POINT London facilitator, Lynda Relph-Knight is an independent design writer and consultant, who works tirelessly to connect ideas and people and to promote the role and importance of good design. In her time as editor of the world’s first weekly design magazine, Design Week, she not only guided the most up to date coverage of the design industry for well over 20 years but also delivered opinion columns that were both prescient and forthright. At the same time she oversaw the Design Week Awards, and the Benchmark Awards recognizing excellence in brand communications. Lynda is a passionate advocate of the importance of craft skills both in the education of designers and how it finds its way into the professional practice of design. Now, in her role as a consultant, she covers all aspects of commercial design, as well as architecture and is focused on helping bring different elements of the creative industries together, raising standards and the level and quality of dialogue in the process. She is involved with D&AD, the London Design Festival and the School for Creative Startups. Lynda is sought after both as a speaker, moderator, and as a commentator on the current state of play with the creative profession. She is an honorary fellow of the Royal College of Art, a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and holds an Honorary Masters in Design from the University of the Creative Arts.
