BERG founder Matt Webb joins POINT speakers

by Robin Richmond, Conference director

BERG Founders Jack Schulze and POINT speaker Matt Webb

POINT London is delighted to announce that BERG Founder and CEO Matt Webb will speak at this year’s inaugural conference.

Few design consultancies seem to have captured the imagination of the design community in the last five or so years to the same extent as BERG. The London based company has built up a keen following in the the disciplines that were once defined as product, interface, UX and service design – the result of the consultancy’s desire to explore the edge of emerging technologies and what we, as humans, regard as useful.

Column inches and pixels abound. In this case Domus investigates the Little Printer

Founded as a partnership with Jack Schulze in 2005, by Oxford educated Physicist and laterly developer Matt Webb, BERG has become known for a variety of projects focused on human needs and accessible design based on new technical advances. The company has become widely recognised for a series of landmark projects including the Little Printer, Clocks and explorations using design as a new means of enabling people to engage with technology, and to feel confident about using it, through playful and humorous applications.

“Clocks”

BBC. How many really?

For the enlightened BERG represent a new way of looking at things. “We are deep believers in a kind of tech-enabled socializing that doesn’t exist yet.” This approach seems to win friends and influence as the company boasts an impressive client list including BBC, Bonnier, Hodder, Absolut, Nokia, Ofsted, Layar, BILD, Dentsu London, Channel 4 and the Guardian.
